Andy Skinner

With over 20 years of songwriting experience, Andy Skinner is a versatile and accomplished musician. From indie guitar pop to Americana country, he has crafted songs across many genres. In addition to writing, Andy holds qualifications in pop composition, songwriting, and event management.

His songs have been recorded by artists around the world, and his own projects have achieved national success, including tours and radio airplay. Beyond writing, Andy has worked in various roles across the music industry. One of his proudest achievements was organising a music festival for Oxfam in Glasgow, where he arranged quirky gigs across the city, collaborating with venues, businesses, and artists.

These days, Andy composes for corporate clients, produces custom songs through ghost writing and song finishing, and mentors aspiring songwriters, helping artists build their sound and catalogue. He serves on both The Ivors Songwriting Council and The Ivors Academy All Ireland Council. Most recently, Andy was voted to become a member of the Ivors Academy Senate by the membership of the Academy, in recognition of his advocacy for disabled musicians.

Alongside songwriting, Andy has co-founded an events and education company based in Belfast called Building Blocks, educating and providing networking and real world songwriting experience to grassroots songwriters.
